Funding

Digital iCreation in the Context of Community was first made possible through an Imagining America Grant to Dr. Marilyn Arnone. The grant program benefits both students and the community by funding development of new courses that emphasize public scholarship. The funding received was applied to procurring additional software and harware for the Innovation Studio located in Hinds Hall, the course location, and towards the programming of a community Web site. In year 2, the course received a small amount of additional funding from Imagining America which was matched the iSchool and used to purchase additional equipment. Thank you to both Imagining America and the iSchool for supporting the project.

In 2009, there were seven recipients of the Imagining America grants. See what other new courses received funding.

Syracuse University is the current host campus for the Imagining America Foundation which includes more than 80 colleges and universities as consortium members. You can find out more about the mission, history, and projects of Imagining America by visiting the Imagining America Web site.
